This project is a collaborative project initiated by the french illustrator Paiheme.
The rules were simple : design a matchbox with a brand name, the mention “Safety Matches” and a price.
I wanted to make a homage to vintage matchbox designs, using similar kind of compositions, illustrations and colors.

I wanted to make a homage to vintage matchbox designs, using similar kind of compositions, illustrations and colors.
First I drew the main illustrations to construct the universe and design around. Using an “engraving look” to the illustrations to add more to the vintage aspect. Then I add all the texts in relation with the illustrations, the colors, and I finished with textures and some detaisl to make look older to the whole matchboxes.
